The Owasiwa Games are a tradition that began with the formation of Oasis city, however it has roots far older than the great capital. The oldest tribes, long before the Lost One corrupted Aila, would often come together around the lake and have competitions of sport and athleticism every several years. It was never especially formal, and was more of a festival for the meeting of the tribes, the exchange of goods and cultural ideas.

However, once Oasis was established, Azith of the Three decided to the establish the Owasiwa Games, as a means of uniting the region now that the Lost One had been defeated. The original games allowed anyone to compete, under any banner they chose. Over the years, it became more organized and formalized as it grew in popularity. The Games also were not, and still are not, immune to the politics of the time. When the Great Betrayal happened, the nomadic tribes all withdrew, and have not yet returned. And when Oasis began their campaign to conquer the Outlying Territories, they forbade them from entering the Games. After Oasis won that war, the Outlying Territories were allowed back in, and they returned with a fervor in hopes of embarrassing their captors.

The Owasiwa Games now are widely popular, and open to the entire region, despite the tribes still boycotting them, and much more organized. They were deemed as falling under the protection of the Law of Water, and as such, can never again be used to forbid anyone from competing, and must be funded fully by the Oasis government.

Overarching Rules
1. Each District may send 3 representative individuals or teams for each competition. District is defined as either 1) An official city district in Oasis 2) A farm district in Lapis 3) A singular Outlying Territory 4) The Nomadic Tribes as a whole. Each district may decide for itself who/how they send their representatives.

2. The Games are split into 2 categories for competitors. The first is known as Traditional, and is defined by a lack of enhancements. This means that magical, boon, spiritual, technological enhancements are forbidden. This is controlled by an inspection committee. The second category is known as Open, and allows all forms of enhancements, so long as they do not detract from the personal nature of the sport at hand.
